At Sonder Therapy Lounge, I bring curiosity and compassion to counseling, grounded in culturally and trauma-responsive care. I prioritize honoring your unique lived experiences, weaving them into our therapeutic journey to foster a supportive environment where self-discovery, healing, and growth can thrive. I facilitate your journey in cultivating a loving relationship with yourself, others, and the world around you. My role is to guide you to connect with your inner wisdom and navigate life with greater clarity, confidence, and certainty. Alongside individual and relationship counseling, I offer check-in sessions to support your progress between regular appointments. I also offer affordable counseling options as part of my dedication to accessibility and community care. Currently, most sessions are conducted virtually. In-person sessions are available on select days.

Behind the Camera: Experiential Group Therapy for the Audition Journey

Work with me one-on-one to embrace the different parts of you, expand your capacity to hold space for the myriads of feelings, emotions, and sensations—even those in conflict. Equip yourself with the skills to feel anchored in your own capability and self-leadership while you navigate the uncertainties of life. Discover clarity in your values and nurture a loving and compassionate relationship with yourself.

  • Our first session together offers a unique opportunity for us to start getting to know each other. Most of the time will be spent collecting information about what your motivation(s) for seeking therapy are, your past counselling experiences (if any), your background, and what you hope to achieve through our work together.

    It's also a time for us to ask each other questions! We can discuss what works and what doesn't, how the counseling process works, and my therapeutic approaches. This conversation will help me understand your specific needs and preferences, enable me to create a personalized plan that aligns with your goals. Additionally, we'll review informed consent and confidentiality agreements to ensure that you feel comfortable and informed about our therapeutic journey together.

    Subsequent sessions will be centered around progressing toward your therapy goals. I see my role as more of a facilitator than an expert because I believe that you are the true expert in your own life. You possess unique insights and experiences that shape your journey and my goal is to create a safe space where you can access these aspects of yourself freely. Together, we'll collaborate on finding solutions and strategies that resonate with you and empower you to make meaningful changes in your life based on your own wisdom and understanding.

Relationship counselling

Together we’ll navigate the ever-evolving dynamics of your relationships—whether romantic, friendship, or familial. We’ll work to uncover underlying patterns that shape how you relate to others and build skills to approach your connections with greater awareness and intentionality. We'll cultivate meaningful dialogues to co-create fulfilling, conscious relationships. We’ll expand your capacity to make choices that honor both your own needs and the needs of those you care about. We’ll also gain the skills to turn conflicts into opportunities for growth, creating new patterns with understanding and creativity. Ultimately, the goal is for you to foster a deeper, more loving connection in the space between you and your loved one(s) by learning the skills to repair, nurture, and elevate your relationships into something truly meaningful, joyful, and resilient.

  • Our first session is a chance for us to get to know each other and determine if we're a good match for your relationship journey. I'll be gathering information about your reason(s) for seeking therapy, your relationship history, philosophy of relationship, and your goals through our work together.

    It's also an opportunity for us to engage in a dialogue. We can discuss what has been effective or challenging, how the relationship counseling process unfolds, and my therapeutic approach. This exchange helps me tailor my approaches to your unique needs and preferences aligned with your relationship goals. Additionally, we'll go over informed consent, confidentiality agreements, and the "No Secrets" policy to ensure you feel informed and safe with our therapeutic journey.

    If we're a good fit, in our second session, we'll meet individually to gather personal narratives that can enrich our work together. This one-on-one time allows us to delve deeper into your family and relationship history, your personal hopes and expectations for both the relationship and therapy, how you care for yourself, and any other details that could be beneficial for our work together.

    In the third session, we'll come together to review the strengths in your relationship, identify areas for growth, and craft our therapy goals.

    In subsequent sessions, our focus will be on actively working towards these goals and addressing any new developments that arise between our meetings.

    I typically recommend beginning with a 50-minute session to lay the groundwork. As we progress, subsequent sessions can extend to 75 minutes for a more in-depth exploration and to further advance your therapy goals.

Check-in session

This session is for us to briefly touch base on progress, address any challenges, share insights, and reaffirm our alignment with desired goals. Designed with open communication and collaboration at the forefront, these check-in sessions are for us to connect, and recalibrate while fostering accountability without the need for a full session.

  • In our check-in session, I start by asking how you would like to be supported or what you hope to gain. We'll then explore the reason(s) for scheduling this session and address them as fully as possible within our time constraints. Throughout our discussion, I'll prioritize your wellbeing, ensuring we don't delve into topics that may be emotionally activating for you. To wrap up, we'll summarize the key points we've discussed to ensure clarity and focus moving forward.

  • It takes a collective effort to prioritize equitable access to mental health services. It's crucial for those who have financial privilege to recognize their impact on accessibility. By refraining from placing their names on waitlists for affordable services when they can afford full-cost options, they can support others who face financial barriers to accessing timely support. My practice has limited availability and by respecting this, individuals can help ensure that those in greater need can access the necessary mental health resources.

  • I offer 6 affordable sessions per client, scheduling one session every two weeks. This approach helps to maintain momentum, keeps our progress steady, and ensures that we can effectively work toward your therapy goals within a comfortable timeframe.

  • All sessions are scheduled for 50 minutes each.
